District 14 has a tough time organizing locations for district wide events. As they say: geography is destiny. In our district, that destiny means that no matter what the selection, some competitors will have to travel long distances to compete.
The current solution the District has devised is surely rational. Two District 14 cities with strong bridge populations will rotate hosting the North American Pairs: Minneapolis and Omaha. Last year, Minneapolis provided the venue. Thus, those of you with strong logical skills can work it out; for the 2007 competition, those with the eye on the prize will be in Omaha.
North American Pairs is a most fun event. The top two pairs in each flight receive subsidies to attent the Spring Nationals (this coming year in Detroit) and compete against other qualifiers from North America.
