Triple Play
Last Saturday, at the Twin City Bridge Center at 60th and Nicollet - all this was achieved.
Sharon and Roger Anderson organized and executed an evening of auction, dinner and bridge to support a non-profit organization, SHIFT, and to recognize and honor Nancy Shifflet. Recently lost to cancer, Nancy was one of the most hard working, valuable and beloved supporters of bridge in our community.
Almost $2,000 was raised by the evening's activities! In addition to the excellent gifts that were donated for the auction, these star bridge players donated their expertise for the bridge game following: Tony Ames, Roger Anderson, Sharon Anderson, Bob Balderson, Cindy Balderson, Steve Gaynor, Kerry Holloway, Peder Langsetmo, Paul Meerschaert, Judy Schwarz, Phil Schwarz and Peg Waller.
Winning bidders who contributed to play with our stars included: Julie Tigges, Diane Warner, Sue Shorter, Peg Mitchell, Mary Wescott, Kathy Kratz, Judy Malcomson, Marsha Devine, and Arnie Holmberg.
Unit 178 sponsored this fine event, covering the cost of a dinner prepared by hostess extraordinaire Sharon Anderson. Following the auction and dinner, Larry Oakey volunteered his directing services, as the Bridge Center also contributed the majority of the fees collected for the evening to the charitable cause. Other individuals, including Patti Stuhlman and Verda Gould, contributed efforts.
Thanks to all who pitched in for a night of fun, food and fabulous works!
