When I first began to play duplicate, my regular partner was a family member from White Bear Lake. As a result, the people I met primarily were from St. Paul and surrounding 'burbs.
One of those people was Jeannette Wier.
Tiny, vivacious, personable and fun in the late '70's - she is the same way thirtysomething years later. Jeannette is fighting the toughest battle of her life right now, however: cancer. So, longtime friend John Minton decided to write up some thoughts about our sweet friend.
Thank you, John. And thank you, everyone, for joining me in wishing Jeannette the best.
Most of all - thank you, Jeannette!
Thanks, John, for this tribute to a very fine lady. When Jeannette accepted a task no follow up was needed as she always did everything she promised, did it better than expected and finished well before any deadline.

Jeannette is the embodiment of the ACBL's Goodwill cultural ethos: “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.”

Thanks John
You captured her spirit and personality beautifully. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jeannette and her family. I sincerely hope I am able to share a smile and a laugh with her again.

Jeannette is truly a welcoming person and one of my 1st bridge friends in the metro area. I did not know of her past and present challenges and wish her the best.
