I remember kibitzing a rubber bridge hand when I first started playing that the Batman was defending and Chuck Shefchik was declaring. Batman's first discard was from his 3 card suit. After the hand was over, Chuck turned to me and said 'What could I do? He discarded from his 3 card suit first." It opened up a whole new world for me.
