If you look to the left hand column of MN Bridge, you'll see that we have updated our masterpoint competitions for 2011. Search either Unit 103 or Unit 178, and see how you and your buddies are doing for either the Mini-McKenney races, or the Ace of Clubs battles.
Some of our players have already built up impressive totals! Yet, lots of 2011 still to come.
Enjoy collecting all of your masterpoints this year!
At our most recent Minnesota State Sectional, we featured a bridge poetry contest. Great entries were submitted by Evan Sachs, Steve Gaynor, Edna Lusk, Maurice Mertens, Verda Gould and Dave Neiman. We thank everyone for their submissions, which were posted at the tournament.
Dave Neiman created the winning poem. Please enjoy it below!
There once was a partner from hell, Who bid like his hand was so swell. He ignored my two passes, Then took two losing finesses, And blamed me when one short he fell.
Fill in the rest of the limerick - or, write your own creative masterpiece! Then, you can win one free play for the Minnesota State Sectional in Hopkins this coming November!
Sue Jackson requests that you submit a short humorous poem or limerick about bridge. All entries will be posted on the walls at the tournament for the amusement of the tournament attendees. The author of the winning choice receives the free play.
Entries should be sent to Sue Jackson, care of the Twin Cities Bridge Center. Or, email to Sue at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entry deadline is October 1, 2009.
Do you think that Paul Meerschaert and Cindy Balderson already heard one of the entries??
