Where are the top 50 bridge clubs in the ACBL? The most enormous are the online clubs: Bridge Base, OK Bridge and Swan Games. Needless to say, online bridge can "pack 'em in" as no brick and mortar club can. And not surprisingly, the rest of the top 50 are primarily congregated in areas of North America with the most dense populations. Cities in the greater New York area, Florida and California dominate.
Nevertheless, two clubs in District 14 have made it into the Top 50 Clubs for 2010! The Omaha Bridge Studio is 27th; the Twin City Bridge Center in Minneapolis is 35th. Congratulations to these two clubs. Though your efforts to make your games the best that they can be, you've been in the top of the pack for tables in 2010. Well done!

I'm surprised that Des Moines didn't make the list, although we have multiple owners at the same facility. Here's the tables from the week ending 4/30:
30 Mon aft
29 Tues aft
16 Wed nite
32 Thurs aft
19 Sat aft
That's 126 tables. If that sort of attendance were maintained over 52 weeks, you'd be looking at about 6,500 tables. Some people have arrived from the winter though, so it could be less. We don't have games all the time, but they tend to be pretty good size.
Anyway, we hope to see some of you come down here to play the GNT in two weeks!
