I spend, therefore I get elected?
Well, far be it from me to argue that having mega-funds to promote a candidate would hurt.
Nevertheless, those who think that Enormous Bucks guarantee a candidate's success should review history. Michael Huffington, anyone?
Now we learn of these astonishing fund raising stats by the respective campaigns of Obama and McCain.
Barack Obama spent more on advertising last month than Republican rival John McCain spent on his campaign, new Federal Election Commission filings show.
Obama spent $57.2 million in July, including $33 million on advertising. McCain spent $32.4 million, with $18.7 million going for ads.
He (Obama) has now spent $335.5 million on his campaign.
Will dollars raised be the underlying factor of who wins? Like I said; it can't hurt, but ultimately, other factors rate to weigh more.
You might also wonder how a candidate who spends like this during his campaign run would spend your tax dollars!
You know Peg this does make you wonder.
McCain's July Money: $26 million raised, $32 million spent

This seems to be par for the course coming from the party of fiscal responsibility.
This illustrates my point clearly.
