I don't care if a presidential candidate's siblings were Nobel Prize winners or dunces, entrepreneurs or hippies, heads of foundations or thieves.
The character of the candidate matters. His policies and goals matter. His personality, energy and ethics matter.
If a candidate has a brother living in extreme poverty on another continent; sorry. No concern of mine. And frankly; it should not be the concern of any other voters, either.
Peg,
the situation seems strange. some of us cannot envision not knowing and being in contact with our sibs.
perhaps this is a part of 'other culture' which we need to understand better.

Dad - some people are holding Barack Obama accountable for his brother's condition.
I do not. We are responsible for ourselves.
As far as I am concerned, this crosses any culture.

I do hope that Barack will do something for his brother and I believe that he will.
