At a New Year's party yesterday, a dear friend of mine went on and on and on about what a wonderful job President Obama is doing. (His performance would be even better, I was told, if it weren't for those obstructionist Republicans.) Wisely, I kept mum.
We can have our own opinions. We cannot, however, have our own facts. Here are some.
Every day, the U.S. government takes in $6 billion and spends $10 billion. This means that every day the federal government spends $4 billion more dollars than it has.
These are not partisan jabs, manufactured statistics, or ideological swipes. These are mathematical facts. And the presidential candidate who can most clearly and credibly articulate them—and their concomitant solutions—is bound to win.
"We can have our own opinions. We cannot, however, have our own facts."
Hey, that's always been my line to you. You can't steal it.
p.s. The big winner of Iowa was Barack Obama.

You may be correct that "the big winner was Barack Obama."
But if you don't think that that is an opinion..... what can I say? LOL!
