A good president needs a myriad of fine qualities to achieve excellence. Surely, however, integrity and a spirit of true generosity are two.
Here is a tale about one of the candidates for president that exemplifies these qualities.
The next week when the usual delivery of 7,000 pints of milk arrived the driver “…gives us the bill and its half price.” This went on for several months and Smith noted “I would ask the milk guy who was a veteran, who’s doing this? I can’t tell ya” was always the reply.
This went on for two years.
At the end of the program, the last day for John the delivery driver who was retiring “…we pulled him aside and asked him who’s been buying the milk, who’s been doing this?” John replied “Its Romney”.
“Romney’s generosity has helped tens of thousands of veterans who are homeless…” says Smith.
This event took place almost 20 years ago, has never been reported in the media until now and has never been mentioned in the current campaign. Smith said “He doesn’t ask for anything in return” and speaking about Romney’s actions “if I didn’t tell you this, you wouldn’t know”.
