During the Chanukah season, we remember this is a celebration of miracles.
Yet we cannot always count on miracles. Bennie Gantz, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, had this to say as he lit the Chanukah candles:
"Our job is to minimize the need for a miracle. We must always be ready."
So should we all.
