I am a lawyer, but can not and do not act in that capacity on the Board. This is my second time on the Board. I am glad for this opportunity as I have a greater understanding of the Unit issues and the Board's role in addressing them. Although I did not start playing bridge until I had long been an adult, I love the game (and hate it too). I like the idea of continuing to get better and someday, I hope to rid myself of the mistakes that hold me back. In the meantime, I try to share my enthusiasm with others. It is a wonderful game to challenge oneself and to meet interesting and talented people and make long-life friends. I would like to see the Board take an active role in promoting an educational component for younger and newer players, classes for the intermediate player, and tap the expertise of the advanced players to contribute their thoughts and time to help us along. I would also like to see the Board foster a better relationship between Mpls and St. Paul, and to see a concerted effort on the part of the directors of all games within the Unit get together on a regular basis to foster consistency in the various games. I am excited about the composition of the Board. I feel privileged to be among such talented and nice people. While playing bridge is my at the top of my list for hobbies, I also enjoy visiting with friends, going to movies, reading, crocheting, needle point, having a pet (new kitty) and trying to use my creative side around the house.
