Well. If you've played bridge longer than 3 hours, you're well aware that perfection is an unachievable goal. Even the best among us make miscalculations, misjudgments - or plain old get fatigued.
Nevertheless, playing, practicing, discussion, working on agreements, analyzing after the fact and more can assuredly improve your game.
District 14's Flight B Grand National Team has taken this to heart. Team members Jason Bribitzer-Stull, Matt Bribitzer-Stull, Eric Hendrickson, Richard Lawson, Andy Caranicas and John Stansbury have set up a series of team matches against local experts to polish their games. Last night, they invited Kerry Holloway and myself to enjoy a lovely dinner, then battle away with them and discuss afterwards.
They must be doing something right; they bloodied this (so-called) expert on a number of hands!
Best of luck to this team in Nashville. And good advice for anyone wishing to move as close as possible to perfection!
