Recently, I became aware of some youth players in Minnesota who wished to attend the second annual Youth National Bridge Competition in Washington D.C. this July. Apparently they need assistance to participate, but nothing is in place to provide funds.
I decided that perhaps our MN Bridge Blog could be a forum for Minnesotans to contemplate and discuss ways in which we could offer more support for our fledgling young competitors. Donations? Scholarships? Charity games with proceeds going toward our young players?
Don't forget - last year, our own Jake Olson of Blaine won the first ever Youth National event! Let's do what we can to promote our future!

Great topic Peg!
FYI - Tony Ames has been running a charity game once a month in his Thursday night game in Plymouth with proceeds benefiting Minnesota Youth Bridge. The next one is an IMP pairs game on Thursday, February 25. The game is 7pm at the Kelly Inn in Plymouth at the intersection of I-394 and Hwy 55.

where's the contact information for this site/program? My 16 y.o. son and I are interested in learning bridge; we've only had some basics taught from my parents (his grandparents).
PLEASE let me know how to sign up for Jr. Bridge and/or parent/child bridge lessons.
