Bridge teachers will tell you that your spot cards matter. Lots of tens and nines are excellent. Many twos and threes; not so wonderful.

Very cute story! Also a good lesson for doing the best you can even when looking at a disaster. In a team game, if vul., the 2nd overtrick would save an IMP:
(620-200=420, lose 9; 620-170=450, lose 10)
