Diane's Calendar of Events

Diane Henson is one of the great bridge players in Minnesota who not only loves bridge and excels at it - but - also helps the rest of us out!

With regularity, I and many other players in our state get helpful emails with schedules of upcoming events.  This both helps us to know what is coming down the road - and reminds us to take advantage of all these wonderful bridge events and tournaments!

Here is Diane's latest offering below.

Oct. 6&7- North American Pairs District Finals
                       

• Winners of each flight will receive $700 subsidy for the National NAP in St.
  Louis next March. 2nd place receives $300 subsidy. 3rd place may attend the
  National game with no subsidy
• Separate A, B, and C flights - Play only against those in your bracket
• 4 sessions 1 & 7 on Saturday and 10am and TBD on Sunday with a lunch included at New Brigthon Community Center.  $56 for all 4 sessions

Pre-qualification at a club game required.  Check with your club if you are
not sure you qualified.

Oct. 8-14 USBF Regional

Units 103 and 178 are co-sponsoring an ACBL sanctioned regional for the United
States Bridge Federation. It is being held at the Holiday Inn St. Paul East, just off Highway 94 & McKnight Rd. 

Please join in the fun of this 2nd regional this year.  Some highlights:

                        

• Free lunch every day, free coffee, dinner shuttle for out of town guests
• Lecture series  12:45-1:15 Mon-Sat.
• Bridge Bookseller on site
• Pre-tournament Chat bridge and Charity
  Pairs-Monday at 1:30
• New KO starting each day Mon-Friday & Compact
  KO on Sat.
• IN pair games Mon at 7 (0-5 play free on Mon), and
  9:15, 1:30, and 7pm Tues-Sat.
• Gold Rush Pairs for 0-750 Tues, Thurs, Sat. (2
  session events)
• Morning Swiss Team games Wed-Thurs &
  Fri-Sat.
• Sunday Stratiflighted Swiss Teams and IN Swiss Teams.

Other Events

ACBL Instant Matchpoint Game, Thursday, October 4th. Play at the St. Paul Bridge Center (6:30 pm), Plymouth Bridge Club (7pm) at the Hampton Inn, Rochester DBC(6:30pm), and St. Cloud Bridge Center (6:30pm).  Hand Record and Analysis Booklet.

Grand National Team qualifiying games are being played at various clubs Sept through next Spring.
