As many of you are aware, Cindy Balderson and Carole Miner played internationally in China last December with teammates Lynn Deas and Disa Eythorsdottir.
Cindy has worked hard to bring these two world class players to the Gopher Regional. Below is a recap of Cindy and Carole's experiences, and the opportunities that await you at the Gopher!

Hello Bridge Players,
I think all of us in the Minnesota bridge world have the same goal--to change the current momentum of the Gopher Regional and transform it into one of the top tournaments in the Midwest. And why not, we have one of the most beautiful cities in the country to visit in May and June, with many attractions.
To help jumpstart this change, we've invited two of the top women players in the world, Lynn Deas and Disa Eythorsdottir, to lead a seminar at the Gopher this year. Carole Miner and I had the opportunity to play with Lynn and Disa in China, and they were fantastic teammates and companions.
We're not expecting this seminar to turn the Gopher around by itself, but we are hoping it will help start the change. We are very lucky to get these two women to attend our tournament and we want to take full advantage of the opportunity.
The seminar revolves around 16-boards that Lynn and Disa played against each other in the finals of a National Championship. As participants in the seminar, you play the same boards they played and compare your results, both locally and with your national teammates. Afterwards, these world-class players discuss the hands and answer any of your questions. There will be prizes for the winner of each flight.
The full format is to play 16 pre-dealt boards, take a break with refreshments while the boards are scored, and finish with a question-and-answer period. In addition, you'll be provided with a written-analysis booklet, complete with comment and tips. The cost is $25.00 per person - you must have a partner to play in this event.
I am asking all Unit 103 and Unit 178 bridge players to participate in this seminar on Monday, May 19, from 11:30 to 4, and help make it a complete success. To reserve your spot, just email me your reservation to [email protected].
Thanks so much for your attention and your participation--everyone really appreciates it!
P.S. You also can hire Lynn and/or Disa at the very reduced rate of $300 per session, per person. I gave Bob an early Birthday present and he's very excited about the prospect of playing with a World Champion (I leave it to you to guess which one).
