Final results are in for the Gopher 2014. All the events, plus the overall masterpoint earners can be found here.
So many people contributed to our tournament, no lists as we do not wish to forget a single volunteer or hard worker. We must, however, mention our tournament co-chairmen: Patti Stuhlman and Sue Jackson. They oversaw and organized a cast of very valued and hard working people! Of course, Mike Flader and his team - along with caddies and others also made the tournament run smoothly.
We thank all of our local players who came and competed - plus every out of towner who traveled to our great state to enjoy super bridge and hospitality.
Come back next year for Gopher 2015!

Today is the last official day of the Gopher Regional 2014. We're looking forward to a great turnout for the Swiss events - and hope that all of you have enjoyed the many events and excellent hospitality throughout the week.
A bit "thank you" to tournament co-chairmen Patti Stuhlman and Sue Jackson and all the great volunteers who worked both at our tournament and long in advance to make the Gopher special.
Of course, Mike Flader and his fine directing staff deserve a round of applause for their efforts throughout the week - along with our pleasant and speedy caddies. Mike Cassel, along with Cathy and Bob Sigafus were stupendous with our daily bulletins.
And, we are especially grateful to Cindy Balderson and Carole Miner. After their exceptional bridge experience in China, their creativity brought Lynn Deas and Disa Eythorsdottir to the Gopher for lessons, dates and much more.
Finally - thanks to all of you for choosing to play at the Gopher. It's always a treat to see old friends - and welcome new ones.

Today we have the continuation of the morning Swiss Team - along with a whole new line up of excellent events for everyone.

Tuesday, May 20th saw a wide variety of events, treats and a special welcome for special guests. Mike Cassel's bulletin is below. As always, Mike has provided us with a tremendous amount of information plus results from all the various events.
Our own Cindy Balderson and Carole Miner, who represented the United States last December with Lynn Deas and Disa Eythorsdottir, held a dinner Tuesday honoring the bridge stars. Co-Chairman Sue Jackson offered a lovely introduction to Lynn and Disa.
Those in attendance had loads of fun learning about these two champions, enjoying the fabulous food that Cindy and others had prepared - plus, as always, talking about bridge hands and triumphs and catastrophes.
Our thanks to Cindy and Carole for their efforts in organizing Lynn and Disa's attendance this year at the Gopher!
Of course, today, Wednesday the 21st, more great bridge is just waiting for you! See you soon at the Gopher!
The Gopher 2014 has begun!
Minnesota's premier tournament kicked off Monday afternoon with a special event headed by world class players Lynn Deas and Disa Eythorsdottir, and ably conceived and organized by Cindy Balderson. Other pair events and the Jim Hall Memorial KO team event are also under way.

We are inviting all 0-299 players to "Lunch and Learn" sessions Tuesday through Saturday.
After the morning session, buy a lunch at the snack bar (or brown bag it), then head to room 215. Pop, desserts, and mentors will be available. The mentors will discuss the morning hands with you.
