New Year's resolutions have never really been "my thing." But, when I read Dean's resolutions for 2005, I couldn't help but comment.
- My first resolution is to surround myself with the positive, as much as possible.
Virtually all the successful people I know do this. Gloom and doom visit every life. Those who are able to rise about what has gone wrong focus on what is good and what can be made better. I come from a long lineage of negativity - but history is not necessarily destiny!
- My second resolution: I will be more giving. I find myself grabbing and holding onto material things more than I should, or need to.
Dean - are you sure we aren't related?! I, too, do not give enough, even though when I do give, it almost always has positive results for me. Thanks for notice that I need to remind myself to give more.
- Third, I will be more prayerful. I need to look upward more.
As my regular readers know, I am not a religious person. Nevertheless, in the past few years, the value of spirituality has awakened in my life. It is difficult to express why there are times when logic and straightforward analysis need to be supplemented by hope and faith - but, it's true. You'll just have to take it on faith :)
Thanks for three most worthwhile resolutions, Dean. And good luck to all of you with your goals for 2005.
