Just one detail: Max Boot notes that anti-Bush partisans are performing "a public service" by revealing government secrets. Actually, I think they would say they are being "patriotic."

Ben Franklin said it best for those in denial of the overstepping of the Bush Administration.

"The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either."

I really feel that we as a country are letting this adminsitration trade the principles that this country was founded on. The Founding Fathers set this country up with a system of checks and balances. This country was founded on the principle that no one man (or woman if the future permits) could lead this country with such wide sweeping powers with no oversighting at all. By circumventing that law and the Constituion, I myself feel like the President has done so.

By us (the citizens of this great country) allowing and minimizing the use of secret prisons, torture, and circumventing the 4th Admendment we are going down the path that Ben Franklin spoke of. This is not an anti-Bush thing (though I will admit I have no love for the President and never voted for him) I feel like this is more of a statement of the direction that we will allow as a country to go towards. This country has always been a beacon to the world of the principles that we live and rule by. It was the model for places all around the world. While I will not go as far as to claim we are as bad as any of the police states or dictator ruled countries arounds the world, I am just wondering what kind of slippery slope we are heading towards when we will allow all of these things to occur.
